Did you know...
If you live within the area of Red Bug Lake Road, Alafaya Trail, Highway 50 and State Road 436 you are considered a Goldenrod resident?
The Goldenrod Historical Society was established in 1984, but the Goldenrod Area is rich with history dating back to the 1800’s and named for the Goldenrod Wildflower that grew abundantly in our woods and fields.
Goldenrod was originally in Orange County, however, in 1914 when Orange County was divided to make Seminole County, the Goldenrod area was split down the middle and now straddles both Orange and Seminole Counties.
Becoming a member of the Goldenrod Historical Society is fun and rewarding with functions and events throughout the year. We work to keep the history of the Goldenrod Area alive for future generations.
